The Presidential award for excellence In Science, Mathematics and Engineering Mentoring is given to individuals or organizations in recognition of the crucial role that mentoring plays in the academic and personal development of students studying science or engineering.
Lawrence Gifted Magnet and Cal State Northridge professor Greg Zem is honored for his work in mentoring students. Professor Zem is dedicated to inspiring middle school students as well as university students to pursue scientific studies with a significant number attending ivy League schools and going on to making significant contributions to the advancement of bio-technologies.
